The Story Behind Hello Builder
Hi, I'm Nishant Modi. I grew up in a small town in Northern India, where my grandfather taught me "Jugaad" - the art of creative problem-solving with limited resources. That mindset shaped everything I do today.
After years in management consulting and traditional development, I discovered what Andrej Karpathy calls "vibe coding" - building with AI as your pair programmer. It completely changed how I approach product development.
In late 2024, after an unexpected job loss, I built my first AI-powered product in just two weeks. That became CareerKit, which launched in January 2025 and now helps thousands of job seekers.
The experience taught me that the barrier between idea and execution has never been lower. Tools like Cursor, Lovable, and v0 let you ship real products without being a senior engineer.
I started Hello Builder because I wanted to create a space where builders could showcase their work, learn from each other, and celebrate what's possible when anyone can build. This isn't just a newsletter - it's a community for everyone who believes in shipping over talking.
